Positive: We booked this accommodation because we didn't want to be in the busy bustle of Mirissa. So the name Calm House was an immediate attraction! We were greeted at the property by the friendly host Prama. Whenever we reached out to him, there was a quick reply. Prama helped us with a scooter, airport transfer and small things in general. This is a very nice property. During our stay the neighbor was doing some renovations (tile grinder and hammering sounds for a few hours during the day) also there were 2 parties/weddings at night with live entertainment somewhere in the area... this would be the only things that weren't 'calm'. But in all honesty; we arrived in Mirissa after a week seclusion, so any sound would have been noticed by us as loud :-) This property is beautiful, a great combination of wood and concrete but not an eyesore in the natural surroundings. It is on a property with 2 other houses. One of them is occupied by the uncle of the host, however you will not really notice any of the other 2 accommodations due to thick greenery and large garden grounds. We felt private at all times. The grounds also have security camera's so you don't have to dig a hole for your valuables every day. The kitchen is functional in general it has everything, but do some shopping for basics (the host put some water in the fridge upon arrival). The bathroom of this property is the eye-catcher, showering in the open air under the tree ... glorious! We enjoyed everything about the property and our stay, the mattress, the garden (with massive iguana and monkeys), the BBQ and the general location. 3-5 mins by scooter/tuktuk to main beach, 2 mins to turtle beach (Thalaramba Beach), 20 mins to Weligama
Negative: I have to put something here, but can't think of anything that disappointed us. Maybe we've like some tea and a cleaning cloth in the kitchen. It is nice if you don't have to go into FoodCity upon arrival for a cup of tea. But this is really nitpicking
