Steeped in history, Guisborough is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the town's most notable feature is the beautiful ruined abbey, Gisborough Priory; standing in full glory, to its original height of 97 feet, the dramatic gothic east gable towers high over the market town and has become a well-known icon of the town. Guisborough Forest & Walkway is situated in Pinchinthorpe on the outskirts of Guisborough at the northern end of the A173.
