It was built in 1823 by Thomas Telford to collect the tolls. Thomas Telford also built the picturesque bridge over the Menai Straits. Formerly the tollgate for the Holyhead to Llangefni road and within easy reach of the local amenities, Old Tollgate is a wonderful pet-friendly retreat for a couple, plus their small canine companion who are looking to embark on their next adventure to North Wales.
