Welcome to “Miss Bandit” so named as her first owner was actor Burt Reynolds. Burt kept the boat behind his house in Jupiter Florida as the party platform. She is not a fancy yacht but rather an eclectic county cabin. Her interior is massive for a boat due to the unique multi-hull, catamaran style design. The current owners, David the engineer and Jane the lawyer, bought her to cruise the keys and intended to keep a seaplane on the huge upper deck. “Miss Bandit” was gutted and remodeled to be more comfortable and cozy rather than the original floor plan of little confined cabins, fau leather walls, white vinyl ceiling and orange shag carpeting; very 1972 when she was built. “Bandit” is furnished with all new beds and appliances and especially unique is the bathroom which has a shower big enough for the whole family…at once. The wall surfaces are epoxy coated plywood underlay, the counter top is one of those epoxy kits, the trim is rough sawn pine. Kitchen cabinet are repurposed tool chests. Spacious master bedroom with rattan furnishings. Massive kitchen doubles as the second bedroom with double futon and nine-foot ceiling. Wide hallway has a twin daybed with trundle twin bed under. Full bath with unique vacuum toilet and that enormous (for a boat) shower. This is not a vessel with tiny rooms and sloping floors. One flat floor throughout. Miss Bandit is best suited for a couple with children or 4 adults max. Although she sleeps 6, its a tight fit and not recommended. She has nicks and scratches, rust and corrosion, but nothing to spoil your stay. Burt bought the boat after filming the movie “Lucky Lady” with Gene Hackman and Liza Minelli. A terrible film but a big paycheck. She was renamed “Miss Bandit” when purchased at Burt’s first bankruptcy auction by his producer, Hal Needham. We have a few Burt Reynolds pictures and autographs for you, and of course a full set of “Smoky and the Bandit” dvd’s among the collection for use on the 42” plasma TV. Please do not book expecting a fancy yacht for that she is not. Come and enjoy the well air-conditioned, funky and spacious interior and access to all of Stock Island Marina’s restaurants, bars, pool, lounge and fitness center. High speed wifi is on the docks. Free shuttle service to downtown Key West., scooters, kayaks and watersports are all bookable at the front desk. 24-hour security and parking right at the boat. Your pets and children are very welcome and there is ample room for them to safely explore in the boat and around the marina.
