Our cabin boasts direct lake views and water access steps from your door! We are located within a 50 mile radius of all “Down East” attractions and historic locations, including Acadia National Park. A once in a lifetime chance to enjoy! *PLEASE READ "ABOUT OWNER" FOR HOUSE RULES BEFORE BOOKING!!! The space Welcome to our charming “Bonnie Lass” cabin on Long Pond! Our 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin has been tastefully decorated in both country and nautical themes, reminding you you’re on the beautiful coast of Maine. This cozy gem is situated on a privately owned 16 acre estate on Long Pond. The cabin is adjacent to the main home on the property within approximately 50 feet. However, the main home is currently vacant. While out on the pond one can see Blood Mountain at the Northern end and Loon Island toward the Southern end as well as an abundance of wildlife! Long Pond hosts year-round wildlife such as otters, deer, turkey, fish and is a birdwatcher’s heaven! Our old growth forest near the shoreline is also home to several pairs of nesting American Bald Eagles. So don’t be surprised if you see one or two out catching breakfast! This quaint cabin has a queen size four post bed with quality linens and a gorgeous view of the lake. It is in the main living space of the cabin. Adjacent to the bed is a wood burning fireplace however, is not suitable for use this season (2019). We can however provide beautiful electronic flicker-style pillar candles upon request. We have a full sized bathroom with stand-up shower and is stocked with clean towels and an ionic hair dryer for your use. The cabin can accommodate up to 4 adults, however we feel it’s a more enjoyable experience when only hosting 2. The upstairs sleeping loft has a vertical ladder that some may find cumbersome to ascend and is not suitable for anyone under 16. The open air loft has 2 quality brand name twin sized air mattresses with all the extra linens you may need as well as a multi-speed cyclonic fan. There is also a quartz tower heated provided for your comfort should you need it. The cabin has a cozy and private “Reading Room” for those guests who would like to cozy up with their latest novel or just perhaps looking for a little “down time”. Featured in this room is a soft and supple leather loveseat for lounging. This room also has a closet for your hanging clothes, cabinets and is where the extra linens are stored. (Update: We will soon be adding a smart tv, please inquire) Feel free to make your breakfast after a peaceful good night’s rest in our small but equipped kitchen. There are two cozy eating areas inside which can accommodate up to four. There is a bistro style table for two and a wooden rolling bar with two bar stools. In our kitchen there is a full sized sink, 2 burner electric stove top, microwave, drip-style coffee maker, refrigerator, toaster oven, and even a wine chiller! In our refrigerator you will also find complementary fresh bottles of water. We also provide basic cooking items such as: salt/pepper, sweeteners, sugar, cooking oil, and coffee. We provide ample pots and pans as well as all the "kitchen gadgets" you may need during your stay. Interested in anything specific? Please contact us! PRIVACY - The main house next door is not lived in, it is to be an outstanding bed & breakfast some day. Occasionally the co-host may stay in the private walk-out basement of that home in order to be in the area to service all of our guests along Long Pond. It is very private since the basement is underground. A-la-carte items we have available for an EXTRA FEE: -The grill on the rear deck of the main home (propane included) -Our new "Strong Spa" $13k - 6 seater - state-of-the-art jacuzzi spa (includes towels & robes) The hot tub is located on the rear deck of the main home and will be for your private use only during the hours of 8am-11pm. The hot tub fee is $65.00 USD and grants full access for 2 people for up to 3 days. Staying longer than 3 days? Have more than 2 people you wish to share your hot tub experience with? Please inquire about our special packages! -Bulk firewood for chiminea use - 3 sized bundles (first small bundle is free). We have $2.00 and $5.00 bundles. NO UNATTENDED FIRES! Request your firewood on a per day basis in advance and take advantage of the savings and time to locate, purchase and haul by yourself. We meet or beat any local wood stands prices. -Canoes & kayaks are available (include life vests, paddle/s however, you must wear life vests. Failure to do so is at your own risk. Please see below for further details. Kayaks $35.00 USD each per day - Canoes $55.00 USD each per day **Fees charged for the above are used to stock, maintain and sanitize equipment. We leave these amenities as a-la-carte options so that we may keep our nightly rates lower for those who do not or can not use them. This year we have incredible package deals! The more you buy, the more you save!! Note- Only paying cabin guests may use the property amenities. No outside visitors without expressed permission from your host or co-host. **ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE VENDORS ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. Any trespass of our property is subject to prosecution. FISHING - (Guides, Gear and Licenses) Information on our body of water can be easily found on the internet. Please search for "Long Pond, Bucksport, Maine" for more information on the over 20 species of edible fish in the pond as well as the length and depth of Long Pond. Fishing licenses can be pre-purchased for you and professional fishing guides can be hired through us to assist and provide gear for new and skilled anglers alike. WATER SAFETY - CAUTION - There is a cascading spillway at the far Southern end of the pond! This is important for our boaters, kayakers and those using canoes. We'll give you a map of the pond and mark the area(s) that are of interest and of caution. Be sure to ask for this map if you will be out on the water, as we request you have this map for your safety and security while out enjoying beautiful Long Pond. Any water activities you chose to do are at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty. LOCAL RESIDENTIAL WILDLIFE - For our wildlife loving guests there are certainly ever present friendly critters! We are adding more bird feeders and birdhouses after last winter's storms. You may feed the birds with bird food in the appropriate feeders, but PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO TOUCH OR FEED ANY OF THE WILDLIFE! NO ALCOHOL FOR ANYONE UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE NO COOKING OF SEAFOOD INSIDE (Due to smells) NO FIREWORKS per Hancock County, Maine ordinance. **There is no maid service. Extra linens can be found in the cabin. If not, ask your co-host. Please remove your trash on you way out & please recycle if possible. We don’t mind washing a dish or two but an excessively dirty kitchen will incur additional cleaning fees. Your used towels can be left inside the shower and Laurie will take care of stripping the beds and the rest. We supply a basic amount of trash bags & toilet paper based on your stay but an excessive demand is the responsibility of guest. For guests sleeping up in the loft you must be able to climb and descend a sturdy built-in ladder.
