Positive: It was a very nice appartment in a good neighborhood on the edge of the historic center. It was spacious and convenient. However, the management company, Wonderful Italy, didn't manage it well enough to do its justice.
Negative: 1) It was advertised as 2 bathrooms, but really was 1.5 bathroom. 2) Lacked basic items, such as a stove lighter, a broom or mop. Dust bunnies everywhere which we couldn't clean without a broom or mop. There were faint stains on some bed linen. And yet, there was a 100 euro (or $100?) cleaning fee. 3) Palermo has a VERY UNIQUE garbage problem and disposal schedule. We don't expect others to take care of our garbage, though as outsiders, do need a warning ahead of time. However, at check-in, the young man who handed me the keys left in a hurry -- without alerting me of garbage disposal instructions in the multi-page complicated guest manual. In the end, we had to frantically deal with the garbage. 4) The management company was keen to offer me expensive day-trips, but ignored my inquiries for basic services, such as how to arrange for a taxi. Apologizing later as a oops sorry we didn't see your request. Some of my other questions were simply ignored. 5) We left one day early. In spite of my calling and texting through WhatsApp to alert the company, I still got a message asking, "when are your checking out?" Which tells me that people at the management company perhaps don't talk to each other. Through all these years of international traveling, this is the first time I'm disappointed with a property list on Booking.com. I come to Italy frequently, and in the future, will avoid properties managed by Wonderful Italy.
Summary: Had the management company done a better job, it would have been a wonderful stay. Now, just so-so.
