Located on Tondern Island, Lake Muskoka in the exclusive and coveted Millionaires Row area of Beaumaris Yacht Club, Breakwater is a spectacular lodge-style lakefront home available only to the most discerning guest. This stately Muskoka lakehouse, located off the Beaumaris golf course, is set high upon a rocky ledge with a breathtaking westerly long lake views offering the quintessential Muskoka experience. Upon arrival by boat, 300 feet of shoreline covered by an expansive waterfront boardwalk and a cascading waterfall over distinctly Muskoka granite welcomes you. A grand staircase (or inclinator, if you prefer) alongside the waterfall leads the way to the lovingly restored classic Muskoka cottage, originally built in 1896. Walls and ceilings created from hand-selected BC Douglas Fir give the cottage a warm and inviting feeling despite its grandiose 8,500 sq ft with 13 individually themed bedrooms in the main cottage, plus two in the boathouse.

The many features of this resort-style lake house include a large catering kitchen, (with an indoor propane BBQ & deep fryer, & industrial dishwasher) perfect for corporate events or for large family gatherings. The elegant dining room featuring warming tables for family-style service and can comfortably seat 24 plus there is a gorgeous fireplace at the head of the room with interior seating, perfect for a post-dinner brandy on a cool evening. The screened Muskoka room is the perfect spot to watch the sunset after dinner. Each of the 12 bedrooms (2 in the boathouse) is unique and has its own satellite TV. Outside there is a legacy 300-foot dock perfect for sunning or catching the glorious sunsets over the lake. There are three custom sets of steps into the water from the dock, with diving board, and also a swim dock. The Hot tub (for 12 people) area has its own outdoor shower and a propane fire pit.
5 golf carts available for your use if you come in by car. With 3 washers and 3 dryers on site for your laundry needs, plus daily housekeeping is available for a fee. Each bedroom has it's own baseboard heating plus individually controlled AC units for your comfort. All other areas of the cottage have forced air heating. There is air conditioning throughout the cottage. All bedrooms also have ceiling fans. The boathouse accommodations are complete with air conditioning.
New for 2021! Breakwater has recently undergone some renovations (photos to come) and now hosts an indoor gym, a badminton net on the back lawn and a trampoline.
