Relaxing retreat - a great place to unwind
Chestnut Brae Farm Stay is the perfect place to escape and rejuvenate; experience farm life; hold a retreat; write a book; explore the south west on your next nature based holiday or simply rest a while.
Fully self contained original farm house, this three bedroom cottage is ideal for family getaway of four adults and four children, or a secluded escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Chestnut Brae Farmstay - Brae is a Scottish word meaning hillside - is set in the stunning Blackwood River Valley, it is the perfect destination to discover, explore, unwind - a relaxing getaway or a family holiday.
The farm stay has one double bedroom upstairs and one double bedroom downstairs and a bunk room with four bunks downstairs. There is one bathroom with a spa bath, shower and toilet.
Your hosts, John and Linda Stanley, farm sweet chestnuts, sheep, alpaca, poultry, pigs, marron and mushrooms on the farm and produce sweet chestnut products and chestnut fed pork.
Products are available for purchase on the farm.
The gardens of Chestnut Brae are part of the Organic Garden Trail, The Blackwood River Valley Food Trail, The Nannup Flower and Garden Festival Open Gardens and The Festival of Country Gardens. The gardens include heritage David Austin roses, Salvia, herbs and deciduous trees.
The farm has chickens, guinea fowl and turkey that are free to roam on the farm and must be treated with respect at all times.
For cyclists - we can take bookings for groups of cyclists on the Munda Biddi Trail or any of the Cycle events that are based in Nannup.
For hikers - we are not far from the Bibbulmun Track and can take bookings for pick up and drop off walkers.
The sweet chestnut orchards are reminiscent of a European forest, sprinkled with daffodils in Spring time.
Autumn is chestnut harvest season and we take bookings for Chestnut Experience Tours that are held at 11am and 2pm daily - tours are free for farmstay guests.
During April and May you can Pick Your Own Chestnuts for $10 a kilo.
Nannup is the ideal town to use as a base to explore the entire south west as it is in the heart of the south west cape area.
