Positive: It’s nice, very spacious. Lots of towels, close to the beach and nice pool that was kept clean when we were there. It’s close to town. It’s a lovely duplex.
Negative: It’s hasn’t been kept up well. The back balcony and deck are in bad need of being sealed, painted or just redone. The wood is so old and dry that my grandchildren got splinters in their hands and feet from it. And the only furniture on the top balcony with the view was hard plastic cheap chairs. In terrible need of an upgrade. There’s not a decent lamp to read by in the living room or master, and maybe the other bedrooms, I don’t know. The lamps are short and don’t give much light at all. The only other choice is the bright recessed lights that are nice and bright for playing a game, but not for reading and watching TV. The fridge is missing at least one shelf which made it difficult to get our groceries in. Some needed to be kept in coolers. And with a home that sleeps so many why in the world would one only have a 5 cup coffee maker and a keurig? That’s an easy and inexpensive fix. Door off track in the tub in the upstairs bathroom that was a pain to work with kiddos. I saw some other complaints about that. But obviously it has not been addressed. Also, I’ve never stayed at the beach where there was literally nowhere to put your food. No pantry, no cabinets. No where. We bought a lot of food and had to keep it on the counter. Seems we aren’t the only ones who found these things to be problems. After I sent in my review, I saw that over time several others over time have pointed out the same issues, but obviously nothing has been done. For a place that is that expensive to stay, I can’t understand the owners not listening to renters and giving it some TLC. It’s a good place now that could be really great.
Summary: We had a good week. The weather turned pretty cold and kept up from enjoying the water and that was disappointing.
