Enjoy your visit to the Black Hills and stay in this historic log cabin in scenic Vanocker Canyon! We are located about 30 minutes from Rapid City and Deadwood and 5 minutes from Nemo in one of the most beautiful areas in the Black Hills. This spectacular canyon road was FULLY paved from Nemo all the way thru Vanocker Canyon a few years ago. This one-bedroom cabin is perfect for couples with a Queen bed on the main floor and no steps. If you hike and love the outdoors, we also have a photo book of the many trails Wolfgang has constructed in the Black Hills.
Our log cabin was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s when they were working in the Black Hills during the depression era. It was constructed at a nearby lake, completely disassembled by Wolfgang, and moved onto our property. It has been completely renovated and restored to provide the perfect lodging choice for your family vacation, honeymoon or weekend getaway.
Activities within 15 minutes nearby include: Nearby Dalton Lake is stocked with trout every spring and Little Elk Canyon is perfect for a short hike. Access to the motorized portion of the Centennial Trail is right next to Dalton Lake. The tasting room at Belle Jolie Winery is just a few miles to the north. Wonderland Cave is within minutes and is an interesting stop for all ages. The picturesque town of Nemo offers horseback riding and the historic Brandin' Iron Cafe. The Nemo area is a gorgeous part of the Black Hills as well as scenic Vanocker Canyon. We are within an hour of all major attractions, both north and south, in the Black Hills.

We have a 4-night minimum. However, if we have less than 4 nights open between 2 bookings, you are welcome to rent those nights. Just let us know.
This charming cabin sits on a five-acre parcel where you will enjoy plenty of privacy without any other structures around, and it is not within a development. We have been listed in the Insider's Guide since 1997 and operate under South Dakota lodging license #3569. We also have a cottage on the east end of our property (on another five acres) that you can find under VRBO listing #167320. Our cabin and cottage are both completely fenced and have metal entrance gates. We answer every request we receive.
