THE APARTMENT
The "Souda bay Penthouse" is the 2nd floor (top floor) of a family home.
It consists of a master bedroom with a balcony door that gives you access to the veranda.
A second bedroom (office) with and a laptop friendly working area and 2 floor mattresses , in front of a large window looking out at the magnificent view of the great white mountains.
The third bedroom is totally independent, having it’s own entrance, a private bathroom (with a standing shower) and a small kitchenette with a petite fridge and all the necessary to cook an easy meal. Then there is the wonderful sea view and access to the main balcony that surrounds the home.
There is a spacious living room with big windows offering a panoramic sea view of Souda bay, the beach in front of the house with the Allies cemetery and the great mountains Leuka Ori on the South, there is a big corner sofa (LCD TV, DVD, playstation 3, speakers, amplifier and a laptop with WI-FI that you may use) air-condition provided at the living room, the master bedroom and the separate bedroom.
The family apartment has also 2 different central heating systems, one with oil and one with the wooden fireplace that you may find also at the living room.
A balcony surrounds the apartment providing a nice veranda were you can dine, wile enjoying the view and the peaceful atmosphere of the country side.
The kitchen is fully equipped, appropriate to cook family meals.
The dinning area is in a common space with the kitchen and the living room.
The bathroom is equipped with a big corner bath tub, and a washing machine.Hot water is always available.
LOCATION
Souda Bay is a natural harbour near the town of Souda on the northwest coast of the Greek island of Crete. The bay is about 15 km long and only two to four km wide, and a deep natural harbour. It is formed between the Akrotiri peninsula and Cape Drapano, and runs west to east. The bay is overlooked on both sides by hills, with a relatively low and narrow isthmus in the west near Chania.
The "Souda bay Penthouse" is located approximately 5 km east from the centre of Chania (Chania) It is a very suitable location to start your excursions from, to all top destinations of amazing Crete.
The "Souda bay Penthouse" is located at a very strategical spot, the location is between (PORT 3min drive), (AIRPORT 13min drive), (CHANIA centre 7min drive) and then the (HIGHWAY only 1min drive) that takes you to everywhere , all favourite destinations like OLD HARBOUR AND TOWN, BALOS, ELAFONISI, SAMARIA, KNOSSOS, RETHYMNON , HERAKLIO etc.

The apartment is located just 80 meters of SOUDA BEACH , and only few meters of the 2nd WORLD WAR ALLIES CEMETERY.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The peaceful area,the idyllic scenery and the beautiful beach offers a nice combination for really relaxing holidays,especially for families with children,group of young teenagers,retired couples and youngsters in love.
There are only few houses in the area and a farm and that makes the neighbourhood very quite and peaceful.
The property is surrounded by olive and citrus trees.
Super market is only 1 min away by car and Souda town has everything you may need… tavernas, bars, banks, pharmacies, souvenirs shops etc.There are two water front fish restaurants on the beach about 200 meters away.Couple miles away there is a big bowling and game centre perfect for kids and adults too, you may watch a film at the cinema, play a game of bowling, billiards or arcade. If you have an appetite for some food, coffee, a beverage or dessert is provided
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation to and from the airport can be arranged,Renting a car or bike is the best solution, Driving is easy and prices of car hire are very you wish to hire a car, we can recommend the company that we use. There is also a bus stop about 4 kilometres away that takes you to the centre of Chania. (at the central bus station)
INSTRUCTIONS
We acknowledge that you will respect the home as if it were your own, we have placed inside many things of value,family antiques and very old traditional pieces.We would also appreciate not siting on the sofas and cushions when you are wet.
Air-conditions must be turned of before leaving the house and never use them with open doors and windows. Toilette paper is disposed in the waste basket.Garbage bin is opposite the street.
There is Solar hot water and when its cloudy there is electric boiler as well that you can turn on from the electric panel.
CHECK IN
check in is possible after 15:00 till 22:00 , check in after 22:00 is possible but there will be an extra charge of 20euro. Check out is 11:00

SOUDA BAY ALLIES WAR CEMETERY
A few words about the allies cemetery that worth a visit.The Cemetery is permanently open and may be visited at any time.

For further information and enquiries please contact enquiries@ InformationIn May 1941, the Commonwealth force in Crete was organised in five widely separated defence areas along the north coast - around the three airfields at Iraklion, Rethymnon and Maleme, and at Suda Bay and the port of Chania. The Germans launched their attack on 20 May with airborne troops. The airfield at Maleme was quickly captured and used for landing German reinforcements. On 23 May, the remainder of the Maleme position had to be given up and its defenders fell back to Chania. On 26 May, the Allied line west of Chania was broken. Suda Bay became indefensible and the troops from these two positions, with the remainder of the Maleme garrison, withdrew across the island to Sfakion, where many of them were evacuated by sea on the nights of the 28 - 31 May. The airborne attacks on the Iraklion and Rethymnon positions on 20 May were repulsed. Iraklion was successfully defended until the night of 29/29 May when the garrison was evacuated by sea. Orders for the Rethymnon garrison to fight its way southward for evacuation did not arrive, and it was overwhelmed on 31 May. Of the total Commonwealth land force of 32,000 men, 18,000 were evacuated, 12,000 were taken prisoner and 2,000 were killed. The site of Suda Bay War Cemetery was chosen after the war and graves were moved there by 21st and 22nd Australian War Graves Units from the four burial grounds that had been established by the German occupying forces at Chania, Iraklion, Rethymnon and Galata, and from isolated sites and civilian cemeteries.
There are now 1,500 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World War buried or commemorated in the cemetery. 776 of the burials are unidentified but special memorials commemorate a number of casualties believed to be buried among them. The cemetery also contains 19 First World War burials brought in from Suda Bay Consular Cemetery, 1 being unidentified. There are also 7 burials of other nationalities and 37 non-war burials.
