AUGUST 2020: NORTH POND IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING AN ALGAE BLOOM. BEFORE YOU BOOK, CHECK THE NORTH POND ASSOCIATION WEBSITE (see "information" and then choose "bloom"). Read this information carefully so you can make an informed decision before you book. Come get away from it all on stunning, serene, North Pond. Our house is right on the water. Relax on the dock, listen to the loons and watch the osprey hunt. Go for a swim, explore the lake by kayak (there are two for you to use), then take a hot shower outside while looking up at the trees and sky. In the evening, enjoy drinks on the large deck overlooking the lake, and fire up the gas grill for a meal under the stars. You'll leave here feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and at one with nature. With one large bedroom with a queen bed, and two small bedrooms with bunk beds, our house can comfortably sleep six. In the large bedroom there is plenty of room for a portable crib for any very small guests. Fur babies are also welcome if they are well-behaved. Note: We are planning some improvements for the 2020 season! Stay tuned and I will update the listing when our plans are finalized. Our camp is on the quiet side of the lake. On the other side is the quaint village of Smithfield. Visiting "Sweet Dreams" is a must for ice cream, pizza, sandwiches etc. For larger towns with more restaurant choices and shopping, Waterville (home of Colby College) is a 30-minute drive, and Augusta is a 40-minute drive. In just over an hour you can drive to Freeport for a day of outlet shopping, and it takes 1.5 hours to get to Portland. In just over 2 hours you'll be at Acadia National Park. There is so much to do in and around Belgrade Lakes but it's also ideally placed for day-trips to other wonderful places Maine has to offer. There are two kayaks (one standard and one "sit on"), but you can also rent other boats including motor boats if you desire. We have "noodles," life jackets and other tubes and flotation devices. Under the cottage are a washing machine and dryer. The small kitchen is equipped with an oven with electric burners, a toaster oven, microwave and plenty of pots and pans and kitchen utensils. There is a gas grill on the deck. We are a Franco-American family who consider both Maine and France home. A family friend manages the property when we are not in the country, so there will always be someone there locally during your stay if you need anything. Openness and tolerance is the way we roll. Loving humans of any kind are welcome at Camp Pascalis. We hope you enjoy your stay in our little piece of paradise.
