Come stay on the private side of Lake Anna in our well appointed country home on 5 tranquil acres. Drive or take a 10 minute walk (0.4 miles or 700 yards) to a beautiful waterfront boat house which includes a screened porch, large vinyl-planked swim deck, boat slip, 3 kayaks, 1 canoe, a paddle boat, and hammock chair. This cozy home has a kids playhouse with swing and climbing wall, a fire pit, a hammock, ping pong, foosball, and lots of kids toys. Sailaway Bay has booked solid every Summer for many years and has provided a lot of fun and relaxation for its many guests. At only $1728 for a full week's rental during prime Summer season (this is the total price which includes all fees, cleaning, tax, rent), Sailaway Bay is a reasonably priced week of vacation that won't break the family bank. Our home is sort of a hybrid between Waterfront and Water Access. THE HOME ITSELF IS NOT LOCATED DIRECTLY ON THE WATER, but our property includes a private 50' x 50' parcel of land with a boat house which is located directly on the water on our gorgeous low-traffic cove with very nice western sunset views. When we go to the water (the boat house), we take a leisurely 10 minute stroll or drive down and park. THE WATER IS 0.4 MILES OR 700 YARDS FROM THE HOUSE. Enjoy the boat house's screened porch and large vinyl-decked swim platform w/ladder (no splinters). The boat house is for the exclusive use of our renters and the community boat ramp is only a few steps away from our boat house. Take a short cruise in the sit-on-top kayaks (three of them), the big green canoe, or the two-seater paddle boat (life jackets included) provided with the rental and keep watch for an American Bald Eagles that frequent the area. Our community has only 13 homes, all on one or more acres, making for a very private and peaceful experience. We are LOCATED ON THE PRIVATE SIDE OF LAKE ANNA which has less boat traffic, because it is SEPARATED FROM THE PUBLIC SIDE by three dikes. There is NO ACCESS TO PUBLIC PARKS OR MARINAS on the private side and our cove is great for swimming for that reason. (If you bring your own boat, you can keep it in our slip. If you want to rent a boat from a marina, you CAN NOT motor it across the lake to our home due to the dike separation of the private and public sides of the lake.) Sailaway Bay offers a significant cost savings compared to that of a waterfront rental; you'll enjoy a memorable family vacation at a very reasonable cost. Our cozy home has a beautiful great room with cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors, ceiling fan and wood burning fireplace. An adjacent dining area is equipped with a table for seating eight. A counter/bar between the dining area and kitchen seats three and is great for extra dinner seating or for supervising the chef while watching TV/DVD/BluRay (Satellite TV). The kitchen is fully equipped and has a double sink, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, range/oven, toaster oven, blender and other kitchen necessities. The home has 2 bedrooms (queen size bed in each), 2 full baths, and a full basement, but sleeps 8 with the pull-out couch (queen size) in the great room and two futons in the basement. (Each futon sleeps one adult.) In the basement you'll find a ping-pong table, foosball, tv/vcr/dvd (satellite TV), piano keyboard, kids toys, and a washer and dryer. The 5 wooded acres surrounding the house make for a serene setting. Mom can relax in the hammock while dad plays with the kids on the custom fort/swing with climbing wall and rope swing. Later, have a bonfire in the large fire pit. There is a cute front porch for enjoying that morning coffee and watching the blue birds sing 'good morning' and a large back deck with a Weber gas grill for making that perfect lunch or dinner. Enjoy midnight star-gazing that you'll never experience in the city or the suburbs; use our high-powered binoculars to observe birds and stars alike. We think you'll thoroughly enjoy a stay at Sailaway Bay as we have for many years. We try our very best to keep our home well maintained and equipped for some good family fun (canoe, kayaks, play area, toys, movies, etc.).
