Our home is a fully modern, 4-season, sunny and private alpine house located on beautiful Great Sacandaga Lake.
Our private 96' of lakefront is located directly across the street from our home. No neighbors between you and your own private lakefront paradise. The waterfront includes Adirondack chairs, a firepit, a private dock and swimming pad. You can swim, kayak, paddleboard, float, fish, bike, hike, or just relax and admire the beautiful views. Be ready for ducks, loons, beavers, turkeys, eagles, or deer visitors who may stop by to say hello! You are welcome to tie up your personal boat or watercraft at the dock.
The house has two main levels, each with a very large deck that wraps around the house. The top deck is sunny and a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee or lay on a chaise and look up at the stars. Please enjoy the GRILL and outdoor dining area with seating for 6. The lower deck is a nice place to enjoy the cooler shade in the warm months and peek out at the wilderness in the colder months.
The main floor is an open concept living room and fully equipped kitchen with very high ceilings and breathtaking views through a wall of windows. Enjoy the modern living space while your family eats at the dining table or relaxes by the fireplace. The main floor also includes the master bedroom with a king bed, a full bathroom with shower, and a laundry area.
Upstairs in the loft, there is an open bedroom with a king bed and the highest views of the lake. You will love waking up in the morning and feeling like you are in the clouds with the enormous windows and views of deciduous trees and the sparkling lake. The loft also has an additional bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom with combination tub/shower and a double sink.
FALL/WINTER NOTE: The main floor and loft is fully 4 season with heat provided by a furnace (and the fireplace if you choose). The downstairs "fun zone" and bedrooms are heated with a wood stove only, please take note.
Downstairs in the "fun zone", enjoy a game of 8-ball at the pool table with your family and hang out. There is another full bathroom with shower and a very unique queen sized bunk bed room that is always a favorite. If your family and friends want to spread out or send the kids into a separate area, the second downstairs bedroom features two sets of bunk beds- 3 twin beds and one queen bed total.
Our unique home is set on 5 acres, and you are welcome to explore. There is another outdoor fire pit at the outbuilding, with bench and chair seating and a covered porch for dining outdoors.
This is a wonderful vacation spot for all season fun, including snowmobiling, horseback riding (and summer rodeo!), water skiing, tubing, fishing, fall foliage, showshoeing and skiing, all with the backdrop of beautiful mountain and lake views. The charming village of Northville is a 20 minute drive and has many restaurants and shops.
We are located only 35 minutes from the historical and cultural center of Saratoga Springs. Enjoy the wonderful shops and restaurants, visit the famous Saratoga Race Course, enjoy a concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, take a stroll along Broadway, taste the famous Saratoga spring waters or have a mineral bath, or check out the local museums (the Childrens’ Museum, the National Museum of Racing, the Automobile Musem, National Museum of Dance, the New York State Military Museum, or the Saratoga Battlefield National Historical Park).
If you or your family are looking for rides and fun, we are a short 35 minute drive to the Six Flags Great Escape theme park and outdoor water park. During the winter months, there is also an indoor water park for kids of all ages.
For winter guests, there is plenty to do. As well as local snowshoeing and snowmobiling, there are several skiing options. The house is a quick 25 minute drive to the West Mountain ski area. The winter tubing area is a lot of fun with multiple lanes and a “magic carpet” to haul you and your tube up the mountain. In the summer there is an aerial treetop adventure park and scenic chair rides with hiking and mountain biking. Gore Mountain, one of New York's best, is just under an hour away. Gore has 107 trails, 15 lifts, 12 Nordic trails for cross-country skiing, and is the largest ski area in New York.
Free high-speed Wi-fi and Roku is included. We also provide clean sheets and towels for your use- please just bring your own beach towels if you will need them.
The gravel driveway is steep, and while the higher elevation of the house allows for dramatic and sweeping views as well as total privacy, please be aware of this if you have any mobility issues. Winter guests may want to come with an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. Also feel free to bring your own 4-wheeler for exploring!
Please know that we are serious about cleanliness! Our house is very clean and sanitized throughout. Your safety and health are important to us and we have ensured that all surfaces in the house are sanitized.
