Luxury at its best in this resort decorated 2 bed/2 bath unit that sleeps 6 on 02 KINGS and a sleeper. This exquisite unit boasts of a master suite with jetted Jacuzzi tub, large walk in shower and double sinks. With free WiFi in the unit you will not want to leave except for the 1100 feet white sand beach or the lagoon pool or maybe a walk to the spa for a massage or a run to the state of the art cardio/fitness centers or a stroll to over to the children's play area. You don't have to leave Silver Shells Resort to have a complete vacation full of activity. Great View of the beach and the city of Destin.
If you do leave the grounds Big Kahuna's Water Park and The Track Recreation Center are just down the road for the younger set. A must visit is Destin Harbor Village where you will want to schedule your sport fishing trip, glass bottom boat trip, parasailing, kayaking or sailing to the agenda. Be sure to bring the golf clubs because you will find numerous world class courses for you enjoyment.
When you are hungry it is a short walk to the Back Porch and Ruth's Chris Steak House. Right across the street are restaurants such as Jim 'N Nicks Bar-B-Q, Hooter's, Sago and Landry's Seafood Restaurant. You may want to catch a bite at the Tiki Hut on the grounds which will serve food and drinks while you sun on the beach or at the pool. Destin is known for a multitude of restaurants from fine dining to local dives. If you would rather eat in we have Fresh Market, Publix, Winn Dixie and Wal Mart are close by.
A trip to Destin wouldn't be complete without a shopping adventure. Destin Common's boasts of shops such as Bass Pro Shop, Black and White, Build A Bear, Cache, Hard Rock Cafe and Belks. Stop in at the theater or one of the many restaurants while on your visit. Summary: The property overall was great -- the condo was lovely, location was good, facilities were good. We only had two issues. One is that the condo lacked a few basic things -- there was no salt and pepper or laundry detergent; there were no beach towels; and there was not enough toilet paper or dishwasher soap to last the week. I know that not all rentals include that stuff, so that's fine, we bought our own when we got there from Michigan. Our biggest issue was the complete lack of communication. They never responded to messages before our stay, they never responded to phone calls, and they didn't even respond to our emails except to remind me to pay the invoice. Guests have to have a wristband to use the pool area and private beach, and they did not leave enough for all the people in our party. (We had five people in our party. The rental is set up for six. They left two wristbands.) When I got in trouble with one of the facility staff for not having a wristband at the pool, I emailed to ask for more (which is what the staff member told me to do), and I never got a response or an additional wristband. So the condo was nice, but the communication was awful. For that reason, I would recommend a different company. If we had had a serious issue, there would have been nobody to report it to since they don't answer messages.
