Summary: We were disappointed with our stay at Beachwalk Resort, Hallandale Beach, to be honest.The property was old and beat up. The rental we had was in bad shape. The walls were dingy and dirty throughout. Needs a paint job badly. Our balcony overlooked the road and because it was so noisy with traffic, we were not able to even hear each other speak, which resulted in an unrelaxing environment. Our shower was disgusting- the drain ran slow during our first shower,so there was backing up of water. We tried to work with it, as we were very busy coming and going during our stay and did not want to be bothered, at the end of the day. But, it became impossible as it kept getting worse! We were standing in dirty scummy water.They did come and fix it, but why was it not done before we got there? Then, our AC went out. We were quite tired from our day out, so did not want to be bothered with maintenance again in the evening.We waited until the next day, and they fixed the thermostat while we were out. When you leave behind your routine, including maintaining and dealing with everyday issues of your own place, you are certainly not expecting to have to deal with these issues while on vacation. The apartment was spacious enough, but all the furniture is old ,worn and tired. The amenities were only basic- “resort” really? The host was responsive to our fix it woes, but it was unexpected to begin with, and resulted in too little too late! We will not be staying there again!
