The villa is situated on a low cliff adjacent to 'Sharks Hole', a small sandy beach. 'Altamar' is an exclusive property in one of the most spectacular oceanfront locations in Barbados. Set in extensive, private, landscaped grounds, peppered with coconut palm trees, the property enjoys breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean. The villa is roomy and fully equipped to a high standard. Outside, the large wooden deck area has recently been completely renewed and extended to incorporate a brand new spa tub offering wonderful views of the ocean. The covered terrace provides sheltered outdoor dining on warm Barbados evenings. The villa is situated in a peaceful area of Barbados, away from the hustle and bustle of the south and west coast – although both areas are only a short drive away. Crane beach is a few minutes drive, with other quiet beaches within walking distance. With constant cooling sea breezes wafting through the villa and grounds, Altamar is a wonderful oceanfront villa, the perfect relaxing retreat. Enjoy Altamar in Barbados all year round: Our ocean front property can be enjoyed in Barbados all of the year with perfect daytime and evening temperatures. It tends to be less breezy, with calmer sea in the summer months (June to September), making swimming and snorkeling at the small beach within a few steps of the villa a perfect way to keep cool and enjoy some exercise. The summer can be an exciting time in Barbados with the famous 'Cropover Festival', taking place in July and August. In addition, the many golf courses can be enjoyed in Barbados all the year round. Cricket in Barbados: If you are a cricket fan, there's nothing better than watching the sport in Barbados. The villa offers access to many of the local grounds (for example, the Windward cricket club is only a few minutes drive away). Cricket is played virtually all year round in Barbados, but the main season runs from May to December. Good quality regional inter-island games can be seen at the modernized Kensington Oval in Bridgetown (about a 40 minute drive from the property), as well as at a number of the local grounds. These are excellent opportunities to watch some cricket, drink a Banks beer and rub shoulders with many of the past and present stars of Barbados and West Indies cricket. Whatever the game, rest assured that you will be welcomed at any ground that you come across where a game is taking place! Golf in Barbados: There are numerous golf courses to enjoy in Barbados. The acclaimed 18-hole Barbados Golf Club is located only about 20 minutes by car from the villa. The Barbados Golf Club, located at Durants in the southern parish of Christ Church, is popular in Barbados with local players as well as visitors. The course was approved and sanctioned by the PGA European Tour to host a PGA Seniors Tournament in 2003 and it has also hosted the Barbados Open on several occasions. In additional, the 9-hole Rockley Golf Course, the oldest Golf Club in Barbados is situated on a premier residential development on the South Coast of Barbados. Rockley is about a 25 minute drive from the villa. Not forgetting golf at Sandy Lane on the West Coast of Barbados. With 45 holes of golf on three courses, Sandy Lane offers wonderful golf for players of all skill levels.
