Summary: Rooms are okay for a budget hotel (don't expect anything fancy), but clearly need some renovations. For the same price (~$300 a night), you could get a much nicer room at an upscale hotel in the lower 48, but I guess this is just how things are in Anchorage during peak tourist season.
