Our home has unique, light and spacious design features - heavy rafters above the raised sitting room area, spiral staircase and arched doorways. The heavy wooden doors and slate floor, overlooked by a large gilt mirror makes for a dramatic entrance hall. A low octagonal ceiling in the main turret creates an intimate atmosphere for diners at the mahogany table.It’s on the very edge of the city, but only 5 minutes drive to the city centre, its private north facing position overlooks rural countryside. With its peaceful, quiet surroundings you start relaxing as soon as you walk through the door. A HUGE Continental Breakfast is included in the price. Cereals galore, fresh and preserved fruit, yoghurts, homemade bread and jams, local produce and pastries are served at the dining table. Guests share the separate bathrooms, formal lounge and conservatory together. Our living areas including the kitchen, are separate. We're just behind the beautiful Virginia Lake and surrounding walkway, with a Bird Sanctuary, Cafe and Botanical Gardens enclosed in the park. It's a relaxing park to walk through and to feed the many Black and White Swans and Ducks of all kinds. In the city there are numerous Restaurants, Cafes, Museums, Arts and Craft Studios and the usual Gift and Fashion stores. For the children there are Parks, Beaches and an Aquatic Centre. If you wish to travel up river, the coal fired Paddle Steamer Waimarie has regular sailings. Another well known landmark to visit is the Elevator and Durie Hill Wall Memorial Tower. All within 10 minutes drive of here. Being such a large and unique house, we welcome many friends and family coming to visit and stay with us to enjoy the year round peace and quiet and the pool in summer. We welcome anyone who wants to share our home and hospitality and are particularly happy to host genuinely friendly, honest and morally upright folks. We are also JW.org friendly. We also have 4 cats and 3 friendly dogs in our family. Special conditions: Breakfast is served for you. For all other meals please make your own arrangements. We can recommend plenty of eating places in town. Cooking facilities are NOT available to guests. As we live in the house, our own bedrooms andamp; bathroom; kitchen; laundry andamp; family room are separate from guest rooms and bathrooms and are private. NO eating in the bedrooms or lounge area upstairs is permitted. As there are already family pets living on our property, NO guest pets can be catered for.
