The cottage has a cathedral ceiling living room with ceiling fan and open rafters, cable TV and WIFI. There is a master bedroom and a second bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. The bathroom has an antique claw foot tub and shower combination. Kitchen with gas stove and window view of Little River where you can launch a kayak or small boat. Our river front location provides opportunities for fishing and swimming. There is a picnic table and BBQ grille available. As you cross the causeway past the osprey nest onto Seconsett Island, you will see our small bay beach which is perfect for children playing, sandcastle building, clamming, relaxing, reading and watching spectacular sunsets. Uninhabited Washburn Island with several more wonderful beaches is across Waquoit Bay from the island beach. It can be accessed by kayak, canoe or boat. Washburn Island is part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Reserve and is worth exploring. South Cape Beach State Park is a short drive away and features miles of beautiful sandy beaches, and hiking paths. In addition to the wonderful beaches in the area there are many other family activities. They include, on site and nearby- excellent public golf courses, the Cape Cod League baseball, Children's Museum, and historic landmarks. In the quaint village of Falmouth , there are many more restaurants and shops. A day trip to Martha's Vineyard is easy to access by the ferries that run from both Falmouth and Woods Hole, which is the home of the world famous Oceanographic Institute. The Shining Sea Bike Path originates in Falmouth and is a pleasant ride to Woods Hole. Cape Cod is known for it's many fine ice cream shops. Smitty's in Falmouth and The Polar Cave on the Mashpee Cotuit line are both very popular. Mashpee Commons is a 5 minutes drive from the Island. It features excellent shopping, fine restaurants, a movie theater, a bowling alley ,and grocery stores.
