Delightfully quirky The former home of renowned local artist Pete Green, today the cottage is still in the family who have retained her fabulous artworks in the cottage to be enjoyed by many. The cottage is furnished in a delightfully quirky style with a fantastic selection of original artworks painted by the former owner alongside objects d’art collected over the years by the family. Packed with characterful features, artisan touches and vintage finds, the design flair of the owner is evident throughout the property. The sitting room is a cosy spot to roast chestnuts in front of the large inglenook fireplace along with a good book and a rocking chair, while the dining room is a wonderfully warm space where you can while-away an afternoon exploring your creative side with a little painting if you're feeling inspired! The kitchen is well stocked with all the special little touches for holiday living, while the two upstairs bedrooms are warm and comfortable with wonderful antique pieces and finishing details. GROUND FLOOR Sitting room with wood burning stove with logs provided, flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player, books and games. Dining room / study with dining table (seats 4), wood burning stove, desk. Kitchen with underfloor heating, electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge / freezer, dishwasher. Large pantry with ample storage. Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and basin. Cloakroom with WC. Secure, heated boot room accessed from the back hall and from outside which is ideal for the storage of outdoor kit such as bicycles, golf clubs and walking and beach gear and is a great place for doggy guests. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom one with 5’ bed, chest of drawers and large cupboard / wardrobe. Bedroom two with two 3’ beds which can be pushed together to make a comfortable super king on request. Chest of drawers, hanging space provided by door hook and hangers. Family bathroom with bath with shower over and additional handheld shower, basin and WC. OUTSIDE There is a lovely small enclosed cottage garden to the front of the property which includes a paved sitting area. This faces south and gets the sun for most of the day. The herbaceous planting is a haven for bees, butterflies and birds but if you like lawns and straight lines it may not be for you! PARKING There is parking for one car on the gravelled area (not on the flagstones) in front of the cottage. There is limited on-street parking nearby. CHILDREN & BABIES A travel cot and highchair are available on request. DOGS One well-behaved dog is welcome at Artist's Cottage with a charge of £10 per dog. Two small dogs may be considered on request. Dogs must be kept to the ground floor. GUEST AMENITIES The beds are made up with high quality bed linen, feather and duck down duvets and pillows. A hairdryer is supplied in the master bedroom. Bath sheets and hand towels are provided for all guests. Guest hand soaps are provided. WI-FI & MOBILE COVERAGE There is Wi-Fi at the cottage. There is limited or no mobile coverage on most networks in this area. A landline is provided for emergency calls. HEATING The cottage has electric central heating throughout with underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom and additional heating is provided by log burners in the sitting room and dining room.
