Ardroe thatched cottage retains all the original features. The cottage has been in the McElwee family since being built in 1665. Situated in a peaceful rural area. There is two cosy bedrooms upstairs,living/dining room, sitting room and small kitchen the cottage has all the comforts you need for a relaxing holiday whilst providing an authentic experience. Secluded tree sheltered garden. Closeby hills, mountains, sandy beaches, lakes and the Atlantic coastline. Bed linen, towels and fuel for open fire supplied free of charge with selection of produce from our organic vegetable garden. Selection of books by Irish authors and board games. Ardroe cottage is one of the few remaining thatched cottages in Donegal. Recommended by Alastair Sawdays "Special Places to Stay in Ireland" and in "Twenty special places to rent in Ireland".
