We are part of VALTOS (Bhaltos) village, on the Bhaltos penninsula, Uig, on the far west coast of the Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides. Joined to Harris, the Uig area has some of Scotland's most astonishing scenery and wild life. Beautiful unspoilt shell-sand beaches galore. Our remoteness here on the north western tip of Europe, only the Atlantic between us and the USA, has preserved the essence of our community. History, archeology, the white-tailed sea eagles, golden eagles, the corncrakes, cuckoo, otters, seals, the music, hen harriers, the great skua, gannets, arctic tern, basking sharks, minke whale, orca , the Gaelic, wild open spaces, rock sea stacks, raw land + nature, the Lewis Chessmen were discovered on the stunning Uig Sands 15 mins drive up the road. One of the few places ~ in the world ~ where you can leave your house & car unlocked!
