Positive: Overall, we were okay with our stay – but not highly impressed. We loved the local neighborhood. Not much to do for tourists and you need to take the metro to get somewhere, but that is how we like it. The neighborhood is nice, safe and if you enjoy walking around, talking to locals and experience that part of the city life it’s a nice place. The check-in went smoothly and without a hitch. Very easy check-in/check-out from this place and we didn't have to pickup the key somewhere else, clean everything or anything else like in a airbnb. The metro is very close by and an easy 5-minute walk max. The place has 3 grocery stores and a lot of different restaurants as well as to bakeries in walking distance. All very good. For us, we booked the apartment because it was cheap and that’s why we think we could live with the bad stuff we experienced. Because it was cheap for Paris and the only hours we were in the apartment, was to sleep. But if you are planning a vacation with more “home” time or with small kids this might not be a good fit for you.
Negative: After booking we had to figure out if it was possible to get in just after midnight in case the flight was delayed. Despite several different messages it was impossible to get contact with the host for almost half a year. However, when it final did happen everything went smoothly and without a hitch. Very easy check-in/check-out. The apartment needs a cleaning! There was mold in one of the bathrooms and at the kitchen window, and they only did a “light cleaning” like the panels were dusted, grey and sticky. The interior and service in the kitchen was okay for us, since we were only four people, but the apartment is for 6 – and only had 4 glasses and 2 coffee mugs. You can hear the metro under the road – for us it was actually not too bad since we are used to it from home but nevertheless it did make a noise – and in general it is an old building with absolutely no sound proof – so you can hear the other apartments very easily.
Summary: It was okay if you just need a place to crash - but don't expect more than that
