Positive: Honestly, the decision making that happened before booking our stay at Mavri lasted for quite a long time. We spent a week looking at rooms, offers, checking locations, distance to the beach and so on, until we decided on this place. It was a hell of a process, with stiff competition but for us, in the end, everything indicated we should book Mavri. So we did. And you know what, we were right. We had a great vacation and stay. A disclaimer, we have a 2 year old Tasmanian devil for a child, so it influenced the decision as well. But guess what, he loved it to - after arriving here, he spent half an hour just running around a house, looking here and there and everywhere. And hey - each Joul of energy spent runnimg about is one less to tire us :)) The location is on the central eastern part of island Krk, on a small hill, right at the beginning of the forest and tree-line. You have a stunning view across the Kvarner channel (to Crikvenica and Dramalj I think), the green forest tree-tops that spread all the way to the coast, and Velebit mointain staring back at you imposingly. The small village is called Risika, and it's a gem in the rough - sleepy and slowgoing - but hey, maybe that's just 'cause of the August 2024 heatwave... We're kinda tired of tourist-trap cities and villages with more followers than Baby Lasagna, but if that's your thing nearly all of Krk is 10-30 minutes ride away. And Baby Lasagna's Istria is an hour ride away too, so there you go. The housing is realy cosy, it reminded us of home. A huge terrace, with a table & chairs for taking your meals with the view as a side-dish, two comfy lounging chairs. Oh, there's an another terrace with "the view", at the upper level. Ground floor's compact, well thought out. The stairs for the upper floor are low, and children & elderly friendly (there's a hand-grip too). And the upper floor, man... I wish I had a studio floor like that.
