Positive: The property was as described in the listing and photo’s. Communication with the owner was smooth. Nice walk through a pine forest to reach beach and plenty of umbrellas & lounge chairs available. There are two pools, one of which has a water slide and we always found umbrellas & lounge chairs available at the pool as well.
Negative: It’s at least a 10-15 minute walk (depending on which apartment you are staying in) to the beach, which isn’t a lot but when it’s 35 degrees & sunny can seem long with children. Also, bear in mind that the West side of Calabria has rougher waters compared to the East (Soverato etc). On our first day the waves were quite strong making it difficult for the children to swim. There had been many thunderstorms in the area so the water was affected by this. Also there are no facilities at the beach (toilet), again if you are with children you have to walk back to your apartment which in the heat can be very uncomfortable. This isn’t a criticism to the owners of the apartment, just something to be aware of if you are planning to stay here with small children.
