The main house was built in 1717 and several decades ago it housed a bakery, thus the name ‘la Espiga’ meaning ‘the flower of the grain’. Once inside, a colonnaded courtyard with original stone walls, graceful arches, and a lush garden with its trickling fountain gently leads toward the interior rooms, designed to afford the ultimate indoor/outdoor living reminiscent of this home's colonial past. The elegant yet comfortable living room with a hand-carved fireplace opens to a formal dining room crowned by a splendid cupola, a step from the large, colorful and fully-equipped kitchen. Accessible from the gardens as well, two comfortably spacious bedrooms are on the first floor, one with a king bed and one with a queen. On the rooftop an independent bedroom has a king bed with a cemento pulido bath. Adjacent to the main house, Casa de las Estrellas is a private guest house that can be connected but has its own entrance. On the first floor lie, outdoors, a sitting room, a half bathroom and a courtyard, and indoors, an open kitchen and living room. Going up a mezzanine displays two twin beds, and a rooftop bedroom has a queen bed with a mosaic-tiled bath. The expansive sun-drenched roof terraces offer stunning views of the town's skyline and mountain sunsets. A 4-person SPA awaits you there with view on Templo de la Purísima Concepción. All bedrooms have private en-suite baths, fine linens, and down/feather comforters and pillows.
