Welcome to our historic & picturesque beach cottage, Neptune Rising! Originally built in the 1930's, this ground-level coastal cracker home has been beautifully and fully restored to it's original charm of yesteryear. Come and recharge as you enjoy the original heart pine hardwood floors, wide plank walls & ceilings. The view of the ocean is enticing as you enjoy the amenities of the expansive front screen porch. Located on a corner lot, the walk to the county owned beach is only a short 100 yards away. Relax in the rocking chairs, porch swing, the sofa, or the dining table as you read a book, nap, or enjoy a meal with family and friends within the alluring screened-in porch! The comfortable and spacious living room offers two slip covered couches, swivel rocker and other occasional seating. A 32" flat screen TV, DVD player, and large selection of DVD movies are available for your enjoyment. Open to the living room is the dining area that sits 6 to 8. Throughout the home you'll enjoy the work of many local artists of Florida's "Forgotten Coast. The kitchen is amply stocked with everything you would need to prepare a gourmet meal from the sea or simply making a sandwich. With the long counter, many windows providing a light and cheerful environment, and generous size, everyone will want to congregate together in this vintage kitchen with all it's modern convenience!. A corner master bedroom features an ensuite bathroom with bead board walls and an antique claw foot tub. The 2nd bedroom also features a double bed with a large closet. You'll be transported back to the days of Old Florida as you walk into the old fashioned sleeping porch. This bedroom features a pair of twin beds with an extra trundle underneath. Surrounded by a bank of windows, the young and the young at heart will enjoy games and hanging out in this room. The large hall bathroom features a tub/shower combination, bead board siding and wood plank ceilings. Neptune Rising provides use of a two person kayak, 2 oars, and 2 adult life vests! There is a nearby kayak launch at the north side of Neptune Street where you can enjoy the serene and undisturbed Indian Lagoon. On a calm day kayak among dolphins after launching just a few yards away at the beach! Fenced backyard. Carport. We provide a large driveway that can accommodate up to four cars or 3 cars and a boat. The public boat launch is located about a mile away. There is even a hose to rinse off your boat or your feet! NOTE: Tax is extra at 12pct PLUS $25 pet fee per pet, $125.00 cleaning fee which includes clean linens & bath towels. 7 night minimum stay requirement for the peak Summer High season with stays from Saturday to Saturday. 3 night minimum stay for all other seasons. If you bring your dog, there is a pet fee of only $25 per dog. We simply ask that they'd be well behaved & trained, current on flea/tick meds, non-scratchers on doors/windows/furniture, to keep them off the furniture & beds, and that you'd pick up after them in the yard, beach, and island. Due to the fact that your pet is not familiar with his/her surroundings at the house, please bring a kennel in case you plan to leave him/her alone. *We cater to family groups and cannot accept reservations for vacationing students or house parties. We do not rent to students or to groups under 25, even if one or more parents or legally responsible adults accompany them. No group gatherings beyond the maximum allowed occupancy, even for a day event. There is a $250 refundable damage deposit due with your final payment of which is automatically refunded by VRBO 7 days after check out if no damage occurs. In the event that you need to cancel the dates that you had been holding, we provide a full refund only if we're able to re-rent the dates that you had blocked out, which had prevented anyone else from reserving those dates. Purchasing trip cancellation/interuption insurance is strongly recommended because you never know what unexpected & covered life event can occur.
