The Fox Den is a non-smoking beautiful upscale mountain retreat that will undoubtedly feel like your second home once you step inside.
This cozy cabin is 59 miles from Denver International Airport, 20 miles from historic Red Rocks Amphitheater and 8 miles from downtown Evergreen. A 4WD vehicle is recommended from the beginning of November through the end of May, due to possible snow, dirt roads and a couple of steep hills in the last 3/4 mile. Evergreen sits at an elevation of 7,220 feet in the Rocky Mountains and the cabin sits at approximately 8,600 feet. The drive from Evergreen to the cabin is lovely with winding roads that show off the striking Colorado terrain. During this drive, you will pass the lower trail head for Maxwell Falls, a wonderful place for a day hike. Many unique restaurants are available 8 -10 miles to the north along Evergreen's charming Main Street in Evergreen, or to the south in Conifer.

The Fox Den is a smoke-free, A-frame style mountain cabin, originally built in 1963, which has been completely renovated inside and out! PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING SLIPPERS, as we would prefer that you don't wear shoes inside the cabin to protect the hickory wood floors in the main living area.
A large U shape deck surrounds the cabin with a relaxing hot tub on the south side, where the babbling of Chicken Creek can often be heard (be sure to pack your bathing suit!). The deck on the north side of the cabin has a grill with seating and dining areas, and has plenty of space for sunrise yoga! Wildlife is everywhere, from the 3 varieties of hummingbirds, chipmunks, foxes, mule deer and if you're really lucky... black bears!
Ground Level Amenities Include:
A private Master bedroom with a queen sized bed (nectar mattress with luxurious natural and hypoallergenic bedding), a full sized-bathroom with a glass enclosed shower, fully equipped kitchen, living room with gas stove, dining area/writer's corner, and washer/dryer.
Loft Level Amenities Include:
Iron spiral staircase leading to a reading nook with a selection of books, a TV area with cozy seating, a spacious sunny deck where hummingbirds frequent our feeder, and beautiful treetop and mountain views – a perfect spot for greeting the sunrise with a cup of coffee or an afternoon book with a glass of wine.
When you venture into Evergreen, you'll often see elk stopping traffic, lounging in neighborhoods, or grazing in our parks. Keep an eye out for these gorgeous local residents of Evergreen!
