The Domaine de Cromey is a luxury 17th century Manor dedicated to the enjoyment of culinary traditions and the natural beauty of Burgundy.
The property stands in the most peaceful valley, surrounded by vineyards. Each room has its own ensuite bathroom, is air conditioned and nicely appointed with French furniture.
Each day we offer a variety of guided tours to local markets and historical places that will enable you to discover the Burgundy area and sample wine in ancestral cellars. You will be accompanied by one of our very experienced tour guides.
A typical "Cromey wine / gourmet food experience" includes daily meals prepared by our talented chef Joss and paired with a selection of fine local wines presented by our sommelier.
Only three lunches are not included as they are taken in restaurants we recommend during the guided tours. It allows our guests to eat in a typical local environnement. We call this a 'Burgundy House Party'.
Inside the main house :
The Dining hall is a magnificent room laid out around an original 18th century wine press, with an open fire, flag-stone floor massive oak beams.
A monumental staircase that floats through the space above.
The Salon has parquet floors and oak-beamed 'plafond a la française'. An open fire with the original fire-back dating from 1716 and a restored Pleyel baby grand is the center of attention. Seating for 12 comfortably.
The open-plan semi-professional kitchen is in the center of household activity. Sliding metal 'atelier' doors allow the kitchen to be versatile, open or closed as needs be. This is where our chef performed, allowing guests to watch his cooking progression all along the day.
On request he also offer cooking demonstrations to will allow you to get some of his great recipes.
Under the house an hundred feet of vaulted wine cellar is a reminder of the importance of the Domaine as a wine-making property.
There are seven acres of a new vineyard above the compound that will allow you to enjoy Cromey wines along with 40 other winemakers our sommelier will introduce you to.
Outdoor :
The heated pool sits below the main terrace with a magnificent view across the park and down through the valley. There are four furnished terraces around the main manor house, so there is sun or shade at any time of day.
