Summary: Velas Vallarta is a beautiful old fashion Mexican resort. Very well maintained. Beautiful gardens with fish ponds and 3 swimming pools linked by a river pool. Nice warm water. 2 restaurants. Andrea for more formal eating and Ribera on the beach. Both well staffed with great waiters.The food is average. Some Mexican and each day they have an international theme (Mexican style) The room was very comfortable with a very comfortable King Size bed. The furnishings are sparse but adequate. The kitchen had most things you would need unless you intend to cook up a storm. There are many restaurants in the Marina. It is a hefty walk there from the hotel but we took taxis for less than 5. Prime has the best steak you've ever had but pricey. Already booked for next year.
