Ideally located 1 hr from Grenoble, 1 hr 15min. from Lyon, 40 min. from Valence TGV station. Gîte within easy walking distance of shops/services. The Drôme des Collines has a rich heritage and lots of local produce. Hauterives is 7km from the Foyer de Charité of Marthe Robin (Catholic mystic) & 30km from medieval village of Saint-Antoine l'Abbaye, classed as one of the loveliest villages in France. It is also the departure point for many hiking trails & mountain bike routes. Wine lovers can visit many prestigious Crozes-Hermitage cellars, such as Chapoutier or Jaboulet. Youngsters will like the Cité du Chocolat (Valrhona) at Tain l'Hermitage (30km). Hauterives is only 30 min. from exit 12 off A7 motorway.
Gîte (plus 2 other long-term rented properties) in converted 'taillanderie' (forge where cutting tools were made) a few hundred metres from the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval. Separate entrance via north-east facing terrace (30 sq.m.) leading into living room with open-plan fitted kitchen, dining table and lounge area. Ground floor: bedroom with disabled access (double bed, en-suite shower room, WC), shower room (walk-in shower), separate WC. 1st floor: walkway leading to 2 bedrooms (two 80cm wide beds OR queen-size bed) (two 80cm wide beds OR queen-size bed). Closed bike/motorbike shed possible. Garden is under construction (September 2019) and will be fenced. Outdoor areas of other rented properties do not overlook the gîte.
