The Gîte des Nells is on right bank of river Drôme, facing Les Trois Becs (mountain), just 10 min. from Crest (with its towering castle keep) and Saillans. The Diois and its valley, between Rhône and Vercors, are home to some spectacular sites that will appeal to nature lovers and those who just like to stand and stare: forest of Saoû (elevated syncline), Les Ramières nature reserve, Mont Glandasse, Omblèze gorges, Le Claps (impressive rockfall), Archiane cirque, etc. The more energetic among you will relish the river Drôme (swimming, canoeing. kayaking, hiking along its banks) and its tributaries (Gervanne, Roanne, Roubion). Foodies will enjoy the many farmers' markets. Be sure to sample AOC and AOP products from the Drôme: Picodon (goat's cheese) and Clairette de Die (sparkling wine).
