Thornbury House is an iconic home in Goolwa Beach, having been built by the region’s first Mayor, Mr Thomas Goode Snr. This homestead has stood the test of time and continues to capture the imagination of locals and tourists alike, having been built in 1880 and served the custodianship of just 4 families in that time.
We have opened up this grand house to share its nostalgic warmth with anyone seeking a refuge of grand yesteryear within the historic surrounds of Goolwa Beach.
Set on 2,000 square metres, Thornbury House offers many virtues including:
· Many rooms and spaces to lounge and enjoy, separately or together.
· Immerse yourself in the sumptuous garden, embellished lovingly over the past 140 years
· Indulge in the vintage claw bath within the central bathroom
· Recreation activities on the sweeping green lawns

· Two additional guest bedrooms also of substantial size
· Ample off street parking with 4 carport bays with extra height
· All linen supplied (just bring your beach towels)!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a quiet place, perfect to relax and enjoy, so please no loud noise & no parties. Quiet Hours are between: 11PM and 8AM. We are in constant contact with the surrounding neighbors who will let us know if there is any disturbances.
NO SMOKING: Strictly NO smoking inside, or in any outside areas.
PENALTIES: If any damage is caused, smoking takes place or there is evidence of a party there will be a $500 penalty plus we will request the repair costs plus the extra cleaning costs. Please respect these rules.

Summary: Loved the accomodation. It was great for children and dog. Central to all the attractions of Goolwa. Just a little bit noisy at night with the traffic for the little ones but otherwise great place.
