Summary: There was a miscommunication between the cleaning coordinator and cleaners and the unit was not cleaned and ready when we checked in at 4pm. After 3 hours and several unsuccessful attempts in contacting the owner resulted in a call to VRBO customer service, upon which owner responded almost immediately. Cleaners arrived within the hour to complete the cleaning process while we remained in the unit. They were kind and courteous and apologized for the misunderstanding and inconvenience. The rest of our stay was pleasant. A couple of suggestions for future guest considerations: hand towels and wash clothes. (We could only find one of each in the unit.) Kitchen towels? None found. A bit more instructions for hot tub/sauna use. It’s obvious this property is still under renovation as the back yard is not up to standard with the rest of the property. I look forward to a response from the owner who said there would be a discount/refund offered for the unit not being clean & ready when we arrived. I have not heard back from the owner.
