Welcome to la Casa Roja, a 3-bedroom, 2-1/2 bath, modern home with all the amenities and walking distance to the beach! The Red House is a completely walled property, with a garage, private pool and outdoor covered dining and seating area.
The House:
The open concept main floor looks out through two large sliding glass doors onto the walled private yard and pool. Right by the front door there is a convenient closet and powder room. Enjoy cooking meals in the well equipped kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. Or cook by the pool with the gas BBQ and smoker. Eat inside at the custom Guanacaste dining table or al fresco at the matching table on the covered terrace. While you’re doing that, stream all the movies or music you want with unlimited 100 Mbps wifi service.
No need to overpack; there is a washer and dryer in the garage for your convenience. That's also where you’ll find some beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. And for parents of little ones, Pack n’Play high chairs and cribs are available as a daily or weekly rental.
On the 2nd floor, each bedroom is equipped with its own air conditioner, ceiling fan and lots of closet space. The master and second bedrooms have flat screen TV’s and private balconies. The spacious master bedroom has a king bed, private ensuite bathroom and a safe which you can set with your own personal code. The second bedroom can be made up as a full size king or two twin XL beds. And the third bedroom has a double bed, with a great view of the backyard and pool.
The property is completely walled for privacy and security. The front gate and garage door open with remote controls. There is a security system monitoring and recording the street front and main entryway.
Pets:
Well-behaved housebroken pets (maximum 2) are welcome. Please select the Pet box when booking and the fee will be added to your reservation. If you forget, the fee is payable upon arrival to our property management company by cash or credit, plus local taxes.
Long-term stays:
Please contact us if you are interested in a stay longer than 28 days. Stays of 28 days or more must pay for weekly or bi-weekly maid service and utilities.
Location
Located in the sleepy Surfside community of Playa Potrero, La Casa Roja is a leisurely 3 minute walk to the beach. Walk just a couple more minutes and you’ll have a choice of restaurants, bars, and a well stocked grocery and liquor store. There is a cross fit gym one block away and a yoga studio two blocks away.
Potrero is a friendly laid back community with many restaurants and shops, a micro brewery, a local sailing and scuba club, a beach club and lots of nearby adventure. It has a great swimming beach and is also famous for its fishing. Close to some of the best national parks, golf courses and beaches in Costa Rica, Potrero offers something for everyone. Insider tip: one street north of La Casa Roja you will find the best banana bread and smoothies in Costa Rica at the fruit and veg stand.
And for those craving the “big city”, the bustling towns of Tamarindo and Playas del Coco are just a short drive away.
Nearest airport:
The nearest international airport is Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia. It is a 55 minute drive from the airport to La Casa Roja and we can assist you with car rentals or airport transfers.
Local team:
Phem or Alonso will assist you with directions, local information and check in. They can also help with airport transfers, tours, vehicle rentals, luggage storage and any other services you might require, even a private chef. And you will always be able to contact someone from our team 24/7 in case of emergencies.

Canopy, rainforest, zip lines, jet skiing, fishing, ATV’ing, hot springs, river rafting, turtle viewing, horse back riding, whale watching, Nicaragua day trip, paddle boarding, surfing, bird watching. There is a lot to do in the area and these are just some of the activities and trips that our property manager’s Concierge Services can assist you with once your booking is confirmed.
Check in:
Check in is available after 3pm. If we can accommodate early check in, we are happy to try and do so. Since arrival times can be uncertain, guests must meet our property manager at the office, only 5 minutes from the house. After 6pm, there is a $20 late check in fee. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate check in after 11pm unless you are on the last flight into Liberia.
Check out:
Check out time is 10am. If there is no one arriving that day, we may be able to accommodate late check out. Keys must be dropped off at the office where you picked them up. If it's after hours, there is a drop box available by the office front door. As well, our property manager can store your luggage if you want to stay in the area for a while before heading back home. Please leave the towels hanging and all bedding on the beds as the maids will take care of this.
