No smoking. . The Old Tannery is a stunning detached Grade II listed cottage, that has been completely refurbished throughout in 2021. You’ll find superb features such as authentic exposed beams, that have been beautifully blended with contemporary furnishings and fittings, wooden flooring on the ground floor that has the luxurious addition of underfloor heating, and to make the most of the far-reaching countryside views you’ll find the sociable open plan living space on the upper floor. A wood burner has been tucked in the corner for cosy winter evenings, and a superb outside seating area and lawned garden is provided for the warm summer months.
Thurstonland is a rural village surrounded by countryside, just over 2 miles from the very centre of bustling Holmfirth. It’s home to a food serving pub which is an easy 5-minute stroll, and there are endless opportunities for walking and cycling locally. The surrounding scenery is simply breath-taking and the hills recognisable from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire. Holmfirth is best known as the backdrop to the iconic British sit-com ’Last of the Summer Wine’, but uniquely is also home to its very own vineyard which offers tours, wine tasting and a restaurant. There’s also countless cafes, restaurants, and gift shops together with the ‘Picturedrome’, which is a wonderful live music venue that attracts many famous bands and visitors from far and wide. Just 15 minutes from the Peak District National Park, other attractions in the area include the nationally renowned Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Cannon Hall, and the National Coal Mining Museum, which can all be reached in around 20 minutes.
