This detached, period cottage is nestled in lovely lawned gardens next to the owners’ home, overlooking the rolling countryside of Blackmore Vale. Peacefully located, with footpaths from the door, Rhyme Horn Cottage is a charming bolt hole, with some original features and antique furnishings. The kitchen/dining room overlooks the garden, and there is a sun room leading outside. The living room has a fireplace with electric wood burner, and there is also a bedroom as well as a family bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs are two further bedrooms and a dressing room which also has room for the travel cot. There is so much to do in the area, make a visit to the historic market town of Sherborne, 6 miles away, with its castle, abbey and shops, or the chalk Cerne Abbas Giant. Dorchester is about 12 miles distant, with a Dinosaur Museum, Teddy Bear Museum and the Tutankhamun exhibition. Other places to visit within about an hour’s drive include the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline with its spectacular rock formations and fossil hunting, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World and Weymouth with its sandy beach and sea life centre. Also worth a visit are the Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens, Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Montacute House, Tintinhull and Forde Abbey.
