Cottonwood Creek Cabins are situated on 25acres and located just 10 mins south of Alpine. Our 6 cabins sleep up to 25ppl w/ futons. Guests will have private access to our property which includes 2mi of nature trails for walking, meditation, geode/stone hunting, plus hammocks and activity area: corn hole and tether ball. Whether you are looking to relax from the fast pace of the city or if you want a central hub for all Big Bend area has to offer, this is the ideal place to stay!
This 25acre private retreat is set across the highway from 'Double Diamond' a high elevation mountain neighborhood. Located at 5200ft above sea level - yes that's a mile high - our air is clear, crisp, and the night skies are unrivaled considering that you are only 10 mins from the City of Alpine - Gateway to Big Bend. This 25acre, 6-cabin property was developed for family and friends who appreciate nature and desire a respite from the fast paced city lifestyle.
There are 6 unique spaces on the property as follows:
Cottonwood Creek Cabin: 2bdrm, 1 bath. Full Kitchen. Sleeps 4 adults, 2 kids. *Max 1 pets; see policy
Prickly Pear Cabin: 1bdrm, 1 bath. Full Kitchen. Sleeps 2 adults, 2 kids. Max 1 pet; see policy
Rustic Bunkhouse: 2bdrm . Full Kitchen. Sleeps 6 adults/kids. *Max 1 pets; see policy
Choy-yah Cabin: 1bdrm, 1 bath. Kitchenette. Sleeps 4 adults/kids. (1 pets)
Explorers' Hideout: 1bdrm, shared luxury bathhouse. Kitchenette (no sink). Sleeps 2 adults, 2 kids. Max 1 pet; see policy
Dark Sky Tipi: 20ft diameter, shared luxury bathhouse. Kitchenette (no sink). Sleeps 2 adults, 2 kids. NO PETS
All rentals have a futon or couch and Smart TV w/Roku (BYO Subscription). Some units have DVD player. There are also books and board games.
Amazing dark sky. No light or noise pollution from town. Bring your telescope!
*BBQ and open flame fires must have pre-approval and be attended!! It is too much of a risk here as our homes are surrounded by dry grassland. Even if we get rain, it’s not enough for us to allow open fires. It is too much of a risk. Thank you for understanding.
We welcome children of ALL ages and pets (in all units but tipi) but please remember our units are NOT considered fully child proof and living in a natural rural area frequent wildlife are present. Use discretion while monitoring kids and pets - guest assume all liability for health and safety of guests and property.
The units have board/card games, puzzles, radio/karaoke machine and a Smart TV w/Roku (need own subscriptions). There is also a DVD player with a small selection of DVD’s in some units. NO CABLE OR LOCAL STATIONS. We also have a four hammocks, corn hole and tether ball.
Cell service varies in the Alpine area, per carrier. We offer free WiFi at the cabin for WiFi calling.
Enjoy the multitudes of wildlife, from anywhere on the property. Keep your eye out for white tail deer and mule deer, javelinas, jack rabbits, road runners, hummingbirds and many other animals. The cabin is a great place for bird watching! Bring your binoculars.
Big Bend Texas has the most amazing views of the night sky. Step out at night for the show! Bring your telescope! Be sure to look out for amazing sunsets and sunrises.
We provide fresh sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, toilet paper and everything for the kitchen. All you will need to bring is your personal toiletries and food/drinks.
We provide maps and brochures at the cabin for your convenience.
No smoking on trails. *Smoking permitted only on private outdoor areas - use butt buckets for ashes and disposal of cigarette*
Pets: A maximum of 6 friendly dogs are welcome subject to a $225 non refundable pet fee. Dogs must be on leash at all times, and placed in crate if ever left unattended. Owners assume all risk for property damage, altercations with wildlife, other pets or humans. Guests who do not comply will be requested to leave immediately.
No open fires, including propane grills without prior approval due to county wide fire bans and general property safety concerns. No smoking on trails. *Smoking permitted only in designated outdoor areas - use butt buckets for ashes and disposal of cigarette*
