The house is the last house in the village and is situated in a very quiet and peaceful area. The house is not isolated and out of respect for the neighbors parties or any activity that may disturb is not allowed. Quiet family gatherings are allowed.
Villa Maria is a house from 1906. It has a 1500 m² garden and the house and the garden are cataloged by the town hall for their great heritage value.
The house is divided into 3 floors.
On the ground floor are the living room, the dining room, the kitchen, a wide hallway with a piano, a WC and the entrance with lots of information about activities and information about the surroundings.
On the first floor there are 5 bedrooms that can accommodate 14 people and two bathrooms.
The third floor consists of a suite with a double bed and two single beds and has a separate kitchenette and bathroom and a hallway with a single bed. If there are less than 14 people and you want 6 bedrooms instead of 5, you can use this suite by paying the corresponding supplement. Check the terms.
The garden is very large with different areas.

You can walk to the center of the village (5 minutes) and you can also get there from Barcelona by train. Line R2 north and the station is Palautordera. (50 minutes from Paseo de Gracia).
In the village there are supermarkets, delicatessens, restaurants, takeaways,.... Market on Saturday morning.

Summary: We were treated always with such kindness –starting with encouragements to ask for any assistance regarding activities and information about the area before our stay, to a personal send-off by brother and sister owners at our departure. An example: Maria investigated and provided information on a personal wish to play tennis on a clay court –in advance she made reservations for us and provided directions once we arrived for our stay. We were also greeted with a basket assortment of fine wine, cheeses, meat and fresh vegetables from the nearby farm –and a personal tour of the large family owned villa that included a how-to to enjoy the wonderful outdoor pool, washer/dryer, outside lighting system, and how to lock the very old and very large front door and gate to the property (both unusual and fabulous). The home is on a large estate, completely private and enclosed by 8 foot+ stone fence and iron front gate, nicely landscaped with private pool. The interior of several levels was elegantly appointed with antique furnishings from the family estate, but also updated in bathrooms and kitchen to include everything modern that would be desired. We highly recommend this for families or group gatherings –our group consisted of four families, comfortably under one roof. If ever our travels are to Barcelona or nearby, we will be sure to stay here again (we liked the approximate 45 minute access to Barcelona, 45 minutes to nearby Costa Brava beaches and 1 ½ hour driving distance to France).
