Timberwheel Cottage is a lovely property with a rich history dating back to 1560. Over the years it has had a varied life as a Pub, a Bike Shop, a Tea Room and now a great place to unwind. The distinctive arched timbers in the structural walls of the cottage are from the wheel of watermill believed to be from the Halesworth watermill that was demolished around 1500. Engraved numbers are still visible on these impressive beams. The cottage has been extensively refurbished to modern standards whilst maintaining the charm and character of a period cottage with lots of beams, wooden floors, Suffolk latch doors and a traditional Jotul wood burning stove, while benefiting from a modern gas central heating and hot water system. Timberwheel is in the very heart of Halesworth, an archetypical Suffolk market town with a great selection of restaurants, pubs and shops. It is the ideal hideaway for a break with family or friends. The property is divided over four floors. The front door enters on the ground floor directly into a large open plan living space. The centre piece of the living area is a traditional wood burning stove housed in the original brick fireplace, ideal for keeping warm on a cold winters evening. The kitchen area is separated from the lounge by a half height wall so you will always be part of the action even when making a drink or preparing a meal. The rear door opens from the kitchen onto a spacious deck with seating for those early morning coffees. The basement has a games room, utility and shower room.
