This beautiful vacation home, suitable for six people, is located in the middle of the beautiful National Park De Weerribben. With a characteristic appearance of a peat house/farmhouse with a charming thatched roof, this vacation home offers a unique experience. Thanks to the spacious plot of 600 square meters, you have a breathtaking view of the passing boats and reed beds. In addition, the front yard offers the opportunity to fish and to dock a boat or canoe. Directly in front of the house runs a bicycle path, from which you can make beautiful bike trips. Interesting places in the head of Overijssel such as Ossenzijl and Blokzijl are easily accessible at only half an hour cycling distance.
Layout
The cottage consists of two parts: a front house and a back house. In the front house there is a charming café with a beautiful view of the canal. Here you will find a cozy table for four to six people and a bar with four bar stools. There are also all kinds of amenities, such as a collection of (comic) books, games, a shuffleboard, CDs and even an accordion. The back house offers a spacious living room and a cozy eat-in kitchen. The living room is arranged around a warm wood-burning stove and features two sofas and an armchair for relaxing. The living kitchen is well equipped including an induction stove with oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle, Senseo machine and a coffee grinder for freshly ground coffee. In addition, there is a large dining table with chairs and a sofa. This dining table can even be turned into a pool table for extra fun. In the utility room, a washer, dryer and microwave are at your disposal and there is plenty of room to store bicycles if needed.
On the second floor there are three bedrooms. The first bedroom has a comfortable double bed and there is room for a fold-out crib if needed. The second bedroom has two single beds and the third bedroom has a (small) double bed. All rooms are equipped with chests of drawers.
Through the doors in the living kitchen you will enter the garden, where you will find a spacious terrace. At the side and back of the house there is a large lawn with a pond. Under the large chestnut trees you can enjoy the shade on hot days while overlooking the Kalenbergergracht. For parking your car, there is a free parking lot in the village, about a 13-minute walk from the house. Alternatively, you can take the boat, where the travel time is about 10 minutes. For convenience, luggage can be picked up and brought by boat on the day of arrival as well as departure.

Kalenberg is a small village (ribbon development) in the middle of National Park Weerribben-Wieden in the Kop van Overijssel. The village consists of a number of houses on either side of the Kalenbergergracht and is very idyllic. From here, you can make wonderful cycling and walking trips and enjoy the unspoilt nature. Nearby, you will find Steenwijk, where you can get your daily groceries and visit fairs in high season. Nearby, in the middle of a large lake area, you will also find the beautiful water village of Giethoorn. This place, also called the Venice of the North, offers you, among other things, a lovely day on the water in a whisper boat, canoe or even with a tour boat (with guide).
