Mike & Lori Rowen ========================================= "10 Royal Tern" is a luxurious 5700 square foot 2nd row Sea Pines home on and oversize (0.4 acre) lot with a short (90 second) walk to one of the most private beaches on the island (other sunbathers are typically 60+ feet away!). 8 bedrooms, 7 baths, sleeps 22-24. 2 wet bars, gameroom with bumper pool, XBox 360, 18' x 32' pool & spa and much more. Our home offers a private 18 x 32 inground pool, Xbox 360 system with games, bumper pool table, wireless broadband Internet, 2 wet bars, gourmet kitchen, 8 HDTVs with Roku streaming devices, Blu-Ray DVD with movie library, membership at South Beach Racquet club, a double brick Savannah grill, and two outdoor shower stalls with changing areas. There is ample meal seating for large groups, with seating for up to 25 people (12 at dining room table, 9 around kitchen bar, 4 at morning room table) using the dining table and kitchen bar stools. Our home is a true 2nd row home, 1 house from an uncrowded beach, approximately 90 seconds to walk from the rear gate to the beach. Sea Pines offers numerous amenities such as golf, tennis, horseback riding, watersports, 15 miles of bike trails, day spa, forest preserve & ancient ruins. Four seating/conversation areas: Three seating/conversation areas on the main floor provide ample space for large groups or family reunions to relax and catch up on each others lives. The Living Room and Sun Room were designed adjacent to one another and can easily be combined to provide seating for a large group. Gameroom, Pool, Beach: The game room downstairs provides another wide screen TV, this time connected to an Xbox 360 system for the ultimate in video gaming. The game room also has a bumper pool table and wet bar to make your stay fun for kids of all ages. Directly off the game room is the patio that boasts a pool (extra fee required to heat pool during your stay), double Savannah brick grill (one side propane, one side charcoal), and outdoor seating for 16 guests. Leaving through the rear gate, guests can be on the beach in about 90 seconds, close enough that you’ll find guests constantly flowing back and forth between home, beach, & pool. Gourmet Kitchen & Two Wet Bars: Many cooks can easily work together in the spacious, well equipped kitchen. Commercial grade appliances from Sub-Zero, Bosch, and KitchenAid, combined with cabinets well stocked with cooking equipment to support any cooks in your group. Double oven, double dishwashers, and a stove top grill in the kitchen are provided to handle large group meals. An oversized 48" sub-zero fridge in the kitchen handles your main food and beverages, a full-sized fridge in the laundry room handles any overflow for large groups, a counter size fridge in the lower level wet bar provides easy access to beverages from the pool area, and a wine fridge in the upstairs wet bar rounds out the refrigeration options. Our home is also available as a 5 bedroom, 6 bath rental during off peak periods at a discounted rate (3 lower level bedrooms will be locked: a master, the double bunk & the double twin bedrooms). This works well for groups with uncertainty in how many people will be vacationing together. With the 5 bedroom option, guests upgrade to the full 8 bedrooms at the last minute to accommodate any unexpected guests. ======================================== STATUS OF HILTON HEAD AS OF 4/11/20 * The governor of SC has banned rental guests from global virus "hot spots" including NY, NJ and CT for the month of April. It is unclear if this will be extended beyond April but is likely to be expanded if other hot spots are added to the CDC list of locations with significant community spread of the virus. * "Public" beaches on Hilton Head Island have been closed as that is where crowds congregate. * "Private" beaches remain open, such as the beach adjacent to our home as there are never crowds and beach-goers can easily maintain adequate social distancing practices from other groups. In our opinion our private beaches are unlikely to be closed unless an order was issued preventing people from going outside, an action that has not been taken in even the hardest hit US cities because getting fresh air and exercise outdoors is widely considered good for your health and well-being. * Like most places in the country, Hilton Head restaurants have closed. Many have shifted to a delivery model so there are now more options than ever for dining in. * Grocery stores face the same issues as everywhere in the country with periodic shortages of sanitation products. STEPS WE ARE TAKING TO ENSURE OUR HOME IS SAFE FOR YOUR STAY * Our cleaners are now wearing protective gloves while cleaning our home (to protect them) and then put on a 2nd set of gloves (to protect you) when handling all clean linens, starter size soaps, shampoos & paper products. * Our cleaners are now wiping down all surfaces with Lysol that are frequently touched by hands including all doorknobs, front door keypad, light switches, cabinet & dresser handles, TV remotes, spa & stereo controls, etc. * Once the cleaners complete their work our property manager goes through our home a second time spraying and wiping down those same surfaces with Lysol as an added precaution for your safety.
