Summary: The property is in a quiet and beautiful high valley outside the town of Nyons. Near enough for convenience yet very peaceful. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful organic farmers. They also gave us the best of the many delicious figs we ate. Their oil is good too. The gite is small but was perfect for the two of us. It's very well equipped and was sparkling clean. You can see that a lot of care and thought has gone into it. For instance, there are proper shutters on the windows as well as insect screens. We spent most of our time outside. You are not overlooked at all and the owners are very discreet. The pool is very nice. In early September we had perfect weather, hot in the day and cool at nights. The stars were extraordinary, bring your binoculars. We saw vultures - and heard wild boar nearby at night. A superb and truly beautiful region for active holidays in the sunny Midi. Glorious walking in classic Provencale countryside, great on and off road cycling (v good bike - and electric bike - hire in Nyons who suggest great routes, ask the owners), we didn't climb this time but you're not far from the famous crags (the owners are climbers if you want some local tips!), apparently there is canyoning too. Gorges de Toulourenc makes a superb easy walk up a river on a hot day. Lots of lovely local food - tomatoes, goats cheese and fruit. Many pretty villages, markets, historical sites etc in easy reach. We would come back.
