Sol Villa is located in a very quiet and safe/secure, gated neighborhood (NOT in Las Gaviotas-- we are about a 1/4 mile north) on the coast of northern Baja California about 15 minutes south of Rosarito. Set high on a cliff 40 feet above the waves and booming surf, the home has one of the MOST SPECTACULAR south eastern views of the Pacific coast and Descanso Bay. We get awe inspiring sunrises and moon rises from our unique vantage point on the cliffs. As you walk in the front door the ocean vista opens in front of you and the feeling is like being on a ship on the ocean. You can see Pelicans, gulls and dolphins. The gray whales swim close to shore as they head north with their babies during the first few weeks of May! The house can be rented as a 3, 4 or 5 bedroom. Inquire for additional rates. There are 3 comfortable guest rooms with private bathrooms in the main house and a separate (4th bedroom) Casita/studio apt. with kitchenette. For groups with over 12 people ask about the Surf Shack, an additional suite for groups with over 12 guests located directly across the lane from the main building. If you like to cook, the kitchen is "Vintage" but completely usable and stocked with tons of spices, oil/vinegar, bottled water, coffee maker, tea maker, pots, pans, blender, toaster, food processor, etc. for you to turn out some fantastic meals. You can even pick fresh herbs from the garden seasonally. The ocean front decks are very large and have tables and lounges for just hanging out and relaxing and enjoying the sun and sea. There are 2 charcoal BBQ grills for guests use. (charcoal not provided) There are lots of things to see and do in the area-- 30 min. drive to Guadalupe Valley for wine tasting and gourmet restaurants, 5 minutes to Puerto Nuevo Lobster Village, 3 minutes to K38 surf break, 3 mins to Pikin Parque de Altura adventure park for crystal clear swimming pool and zip-lining. 45 minutes to Ensenada shopping district, 1 hour to La Bufadora and walking distance to some good local restaurants. There is a Salon/Spa, a dentist, a glass artist's studio and El Jefe market right at the front of the property, as well. The home is private, secluded and comfortable and equipped with everything you need to make your vacation perfect. We like the fact that our home is not "Fancy". We just aren't fancy people. We've tried to embraced the vintage vibe of this 1960's character home. This is one of the original homes built in this area and the first home built in our neighborhood- before it was a neighborhood. It does not have granite counters and marble tiles and everything top of the line. The house is clean, comfortable and homey. If you are looking for over the top luxury, our home probably won't suit your needs. Check in any time after 3pm. Please arrange early check in or late check out in advance. Please do not access the neighborhood until check in time. Check out is 11am. Late check out can be arranged for $50/hour.
