“The Chalet” on Wellesley Island is situated in the center where X marks the spot of Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence Seaway of New York. 'The Chalet' is specifically located on Millionaire's Row halfway between Boldt Castle and The Thousand Island Club. This Historic Austrian Swiss Style Chalet was built by George Boldt in 1910. During the Guilded Era Boldt used “The Chalet” as a guest house to for his most notable guests and visitors. Bell, Florence, St. Elmo and Nobby Islands protect the Main dock from the St. Lawrence Chop and larger boat traffic while still preserving the major view of the shipping channel from the property. At the Main dock watch ships and yachts from around the world travel the St. Lawrence right in your front yard. Closer to shore you can hear the tour boats pass by describing the history of the Chalet to their passengers. Closer yet the classic 'Woodies' come idling by - among them the 'Zipper' from the Antique Boat Museum and the 'Monitor' from Castle Rest. Swimming at the Main dock is second to none. The crystal clear water is more than 10' deep. After basking in the sun all day there is nothing like a swim in this refreshing water off the dock. Rental boats can be arranged, but if you have your own bring it! Our 30' finger dock is equiped with power.You will find it very easy to get into due to the prevailing winds. You will find the finger dock literally beside the main dock in position number one. Sitting at the dock on your boat brings the world of the Seaway even closer. Castles, museums, golf, river cruises, fishing and dive charters and Kingston Ontario, are here at your finger tips in the heart of the Islands.
