A Modern Home, Lots Of Comfort, Outdoor Space And A Saltwater Pool
Casa Gabriel is located in the Alma Verde community (Blue Spirit Resort) in South Playa Guiones, Nosara. Transportation is needed for this home as it is a 10 minute drive the main surfing beach of Playa Guiones, yet only a minute drive to the serene beach and quaint fishing town of Garza.
The house is diagonally across the street from the entrance security guard gate. After entering the front gate of the house, you will see a beautiful door with a dolphin door knocker. The carved door handle is from Bali. You can choose to enter the house or walk up a few steps to the beautifully tiled, blue swimming pool. The pool is 4 ½ feet deep and long enough for laps or family or couple play time. The pool has a shallow entrance allowing you to soak up the rays of the sun while laying in refreshingly cool, inches deep water. You can sit waist deep on the entrance steps and converse with friends in the pool or have refreshments brought to you as you lounge and talk.
As you enter the front door you are greeted by the vibrantly colorful paintings of Frank Monaco, a Floridian artist who has had museum and many one man art shows. You will see many more of Frank’s painting throughout the house, as well as art work by both Margina Gabriel and Don Trousdale. You will find many lovely works of art throughout the house.
Off of the hallway is a laundry room with washer, dryer, and double laundry tubs. In this room is the bodega, a traditional safety storage area which allows you to lock away your valuables when leaving the house. The metal door bodega locks with a key and is safe to store your passport, money, jewelry, laptops, electronics and any other valuables when you leave for excursions. The house is very safe, but please remember to lock your valuable objects when you leave the house for extra safety precaution.
The downstairs of Casa Gabriel has an open air living room area with a day bed perfect for afternoon siesta’s, reading a good book, or relaxing and chatting with friends. This room has a raised bar into the kitchen. Four bar stools allow you to talk with the cook in the kitchen or to socialize with friends in the open air living room area. Steps from the outdoor living area there is the outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. Two multipurpose benches; chaises; or massage tables allow you to sit while enjoying the surrounding jungle hillsides; lounge near the pool; or receive an individual or couples massage.
Private massages can be arranged. Amazingly talented local cooks can also be hired to prepare vegetarian dishes, freshly caught local fish, as well as organic and locally raised beef, chicken and pork which can be prepared to please all tastes. Yoga teachers are available for private lessons at the house and guide you through an active or a restorative practice customized to your individual needs.
The downstairs has a beautiful glass tile and stone shower, large enough for two. The tiny river washed pebbles provide a non slip floor. This bathroom has a lovely pedestal sink and a Costa Rican wood counter. Another Frank Monaco painting is found on the wall.
The downstairs living room with screens and sliding glass doors look out to the jungle and the outdoor chaises. Molas, with an animal theme decorate the walls. A cut canvas painting by Don Trousdale, a painter from St. Augustine, Florida, and an ocean scene by Margina Gabriel as well as a few animal sculptures decorate this room. This room can be used as an extra sleeping area if needed.
As you walk up the stairs to the second floor you will appreciate the view from the large stair well windows. The guest bedroom has a lovely king size canopy bed from Bali. The canopy is sheer mosquito netting for appearance only as the windows have screens. A circular staircase, with a lovely Angel Trumpet lamp, lead you to the roof deck. During the daytime, the roof deck is perfect for nude sunbathing in complete privacy. At night the roof deck offers a spectacular view of the stars. Lounging cushions may be taken onto this roof deck for star gazing and of course additional people can sleep on the roof deck if wanted. The colors of this guest bedroom are blue, purple and aqua.
The Master Bedroom has a magnificent king size Guanacaste wood bed with teak end tables. A Margina Gabriel painting adorns the bedroom wall. This is the most luxurious and sexy bedroom ever! Sliding glass, screened doors lead to the wrap around balcony that looks out to the jungle hillside and the swimming pool below. This room offers privacy and sensual luxuriousness. The walk-in closet is very large.
The upstairs bathroom is a luxurious haven of calmness. The extra large walk in shower has non slip pebble floors. The mat stone tiles are enhanced with tiny aqua glass tiles, mimicking the serenity of the beach sand and the aqua waters of the Pacific. A white contemporary futon allows you to sit and chat while your partner pampers in front of the long mirrored counter.
I invite you to relax and restore yourself while staying at Casa Gabriel.
