Miramar Beach offers a fun, laid-back getaway tucked into the panhandle of Florida’s Gulf Coast. Destin, Sandestin, South Walton, and Fort Walton Beach are right next door.

Sit beachside with your toes in the white sand as the Gulf of Mexico glistens only feet away. Within minutes you’ll understand why this stretch of coast from Pensacola to Panama City beach is called the Emerald Coast.

White sands and warm waters make for the perfect getaway and offer some exciting and fun things to do, so if a Miramar Beach vacation is just what you need (and honestly, who doesn’t), check out these fun things to do and see while you’re there!

You’ve arrived at your beachside rental, the family is ready to run down to the beach, and you have the sunscreen ready. After an hour in the sun, the kids are ready to move on to something more adventurous. It’s time to introduce them to parasailing.

Parasailing will give you and your family memories to talk about for a lifetime. Miramar Beach Parasail offers regular daytime sightseeing experiences and sunset flights.

They also have several other water sports like snorkeling on the dolphin reef or riding a banana boat. You can also buy a combo package. They also service Destin and Sandestin so that you can use their services over a wide area.

After a day of parasailing, try their snorkeling package to have a relaxing encounter with the Dolphin Reef. You might see a sea turtle!

Grand Boulevard at Sandestin has a little something for everyone. Delicious authentic local cuisine, casual fare, and fine dining are mixed with retail shop boutiques and popular national brands.

Locally owned businesses sell unique items that are sure to impress and have your friends asking where they can buy that outfit. High-quality clothing is the theme at the Grand Boulevard.

If your getaway takes place over the holidays, check out the seasonal displays. The community puts together a very festive atmosphere.

Whether you want a dinner cruise or would rather find some dolphins, several options are available in Miramar Beach.

Check out SunQuest Cruises for a dinner cruise. They offer a three-hour cruise with fine dining and dancing aboard a three-deck yacht.

The cruise sets out and gives you spectacular sightseeing of the golden hour and views of the silver sands of Destin under starlight. The cruise leaves from Sandestin Golf and Resort.

Dolphin Tour

Maybe you’d prefer to go sightseeing and dolphin watching instead. In that case, check out AJ’s Water Adventures. They will take you to see dolphins and are going to entertain you the entire time. Complimentary drinks and sodas for the younger people.

These trips take off in nearby Destin, FL, which is only about a 10 minute drive down the Gulf coast.

AJ’s has a yacht and a sailboat to choose from, depending on your tastes. Either option is perfect for a day of family fun.

Go for a Bike Ride

Cruising around Miramar Beach on a bike or scooter is the perfect way to experience the town. The folks at Coastal Cruisers agreed and opened their doors in 2005 to offer bike rentals. They have expanded, adding scooters, motorized vehicles, kayaks, and paddleboards.

Kayaking around the bay is a fun way to explore the local wildlife, as is paddle boarding. Spend time on the water, and you’ll return from your seascape feeling rejuvenated and ready to face the world again.

Let’s go Fishing

Fishing charters are readily available in Miramar Beach and the surrounding areas. There are private charters you can book for yourself and a few others or larger charters like New Florida Girl’s American Spirit.

The charter offers a 4-hr, 6-hr, and 8-hr trip for very reasonable rates. The boat is large, and you’ll be fishing with a wide variety of people, though if you book for your entire family, you can stay close together.

The cost savings and how they introduce you to deep-sea fishing make this charter well worth the money.

Silver Lining Charter is a solid choice if you’d prefer a private fishing charter. Captain Joe has an excellent reputation for getting his clients on fish and bringing back happy anglers.

Golf, Anyone?

Raven Golf Club can be called challenging. People refer to it as “scenic.” The 2006 PGA Champions Tour referred to the 18th hole as the toughest on the tour. Consistently ranking in the top 75 courses in the country, this course is a must-play for any golfer coming to Miramar Beach.

If this sounds like you, plan ahead. Reservations are recommended. You can book up to 13 months in advance.

The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort houses the Raven Golf Club, along with tennis, pools, shopping, dining, and water sports rentals, so there’s something for the whole family.

Vacation rentals are also available.

While at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, stop by the Village of Baytowne Wharf. Jet skis can be rented at the wharf, and there are plenty of dining options in the area. It’s a great way to end the day after a challenging round of golf.

You’ll love the family fun atmosphere and be ready to come back again on your next trip to the area.
